What do you do when writers ask what you think of their writing? How honest are you? If they ask what they should do next, do you ever say that a rewrite is in order?

These are dilemmas most writers will face some time in their lives. Honesty tempered with compassion is called for in such situations. Especially when the writers have had friends color the writing with their love of the writer.

Writing on the run sometimes means finding the balance between encouragement of others and offering true, necessary, and kind comments.

Remember, life is your page.
