Do you need quiet, focus time, and the ability to finish a thought?

When does a writer say it is time for a break, time to play, or take a vacation? We recently adopted a young dog from the shelter.  He has changed the way we live and write.  We named him Leaf, and he is delightful with a wonderfully outgoing personality, energy, and intelligence.  What were we thinking?  Writers need quiet, focus time, and the ability to finish a thought.  As with many writers, Linda needs quiet time to think.

Rather than deprive ourselves of having such a loving and creative creature in our lives, though, we are writing about him. Each week, during our writer's group, Allen recalls an incident in which Leaf is astounding us with his
problem-solving skills, diplomacy, and creativity.  Who knows if someday these lessons we are learning from our
little rescued cocker spaniel will wind their way into a book or books?

Remember, life is your page.
