What inspires you to write about certain topics?

For us, our dog Taylor, a perky yellow Labrador retriever, caused us to start discussing the spiritual qualities animals seem to have in abundance.  Watching her walk around the lake near our home with such joyful exuberance had us asking, "Wouldn't it be great if people had more of the spiritual qualities that are natural to animals?"

After one such discussion, we went home and placed on Internet chat groups and on flyers that we posted around
town, questions like the ones we talked about on the walk. We asked, "Are you learning spiritual lessons from animals?"

As they say, the rest is history.  Within ninety days, we had received hundreds of replies from all over the world.  It
was as if people were waiting for someone to ask the right questions so they could pour out their hearts and tell the stories of the spiritual benefits they were receiving from sharing their homes and their lives with animals.

This is how Angel Animals and our series of books and newsletters were born. On one of the saddest days of our lives - Friday, June 23, 2006 11:25 p.m., Taylor passed away.  She had brightened our home with her unconditional love and joy for twelve years. Our hearts are broken.

Taylor was with us from the beginning.  Now, as we head into a new phase of writing and speaking about animal rescue and the need to save the lives of precious animal family members, she has left us. Mission accomplished.  She gave everything she had to make our lives and our work more meaningful.  Those of you who have loved and lost a beloved pet will understand what the enormous loss we are feeling.
