How do you feel during each aspect of offering your creations to the world?

We have felt a stronger variation of a theme that has played out with the publication of each of our books.  It is difficult to explain, because there is no logical or physical explanation.  But we have this sensation of extreme tiredness; a draining of energy at every level.  We have come to think of it as the "afterbirth."

As whatever you write and publish goes out into the world, the first readers tune into your state of consciousness.  It is as if they have become guests entering the room you built with your writing. Their presence is palpable.  They are there in your space -- thinking, feeling, reacting, making decisions about whether they like or don't like, agree or disagree with what you wrote.

No one can prove this is happening, of course, but after so many times of experiencing it with our seven published books, we have learned to accept this as part of the cycle.  Something similar to post-partum depression accompanies it after the huge momentum of bringing everything together and pushing a finished product out into the world.  Baby has been born.  No going back.  On to the next phase of promoting it with as much energy as you can muster.

Look at the phases of your writing-publishing cycle.  How do you feel during each aspect of offering your creations to the world?

Remember, life is your page.
